Placenta Treasure Preparations
Placenta encapsulation is the process of sterilizing and dehydrating the placenta following birth. This ingestion of the placenta is known as "placentophagy." The purpose of placentophagy is to reintroduce the beneficial vitamins, minerals, hormones, proteins, and other nutrients to the body following childbirth to help restore a more balanced body function, prevent *baby blues* and the more serious postpartum depression, increase breast-milk production, shorten healing time, increase maternal energy levels, and provide an over-all feeling of wellness.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) – In this method, your placenta will be steamed with fresh ginger, pepper, and lemon before dehydrating. This is to enhance its warming properties and help your body use the beneficial properties of the placenta in a deeper way. Additional herbs or foodstuffs may be used in the steaming process as laid out at the bottom of this agreement.
Raw Dehydrated Method – this method involves slicing the placenta while fresh and raw and dehydrating it immediately. It is widely held that the hormones are more likely to be bioavailable when the placenta is processed raw.
Placenta Tincture - is an added bonus. It can be used in addition to and long after your placenta pills are gone. A small piece of the placenta is tinctured in a high grade alcohol, and it can be used in any time of trauma, transition, or emotional distress for both mother and child.
Placental Salve - An ointment is made with dried placenta, calendula, neem leaf, comfrey, coconut and olive oil. It is warmed over a period of days, then strained. It can be used to treat sore nipples, diaper rash, and other small scrapes, bruises or rash. And it is 100% edible.
Placental Treats – What better options than to have a little sweet treat for your pleasure. Not only do they taste great, but they are good for you. Options include chocolates, cookie dough, brownies.
